Welcome. My name is Erich Lerch, and I am the founder and lead engineer behind levolta solutions GmbH.

Born in 1959 – Combining decades of experience with a modern technical mindset.
Extensive track record as a Senior Project Manager for electronics development in both agile startups and large-scale international corporations.
Strategic leadership experience as a Group Lead, focused on efficient problem-solving and high-quality standards.
Passionate educator with long-standing experience as a lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.
Full-blooded engineer with a holistic view: I bridge the gaps between mechanics, electronics, and software with composure and technical mastery.

2016 – 2024: maxon motor AG, Sachseln Project Manager Development specializing in Systems Engineering, Battery Systems, and Functional Safety. Managed the full spectrum of e-bike system development, from BMS for industrial applications to wireless connectivity (BLE/ANT) and international certifications (EMC/RED).
2000 – 2016: Flytec AG, Horw Project Manager Development focused on high-precision pressure sensing and microelectronics. Led outdoor device development from concept to mass production (including plastic injection molding and sourcing in Taiwan and Vietnam).
1989 – 2000: Tegimenta AG / Roche Diagnostics, Rotkreuz Electronics Development Group Lead. Specializing in robotics, motion control (Stepper, DC, EC motors), and in-house development of high-voltage power stages for medical diagnostics.
1987 – 1989: ESEC AG, Cham Engineering & Electronics Development. Design of coreless DC motors and linear motor systems for the semiconductor industry (Die Bonders).
1983 – 1987: Kinematica GmbH, Littau Head of Electronics Manufacturing & Development. Gained practical expertise in drive technology and explosion-proof (ATEX) environments.

Lectureships: Since 2006: Lecturer at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) for Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.
2000 – 2002: Teaching EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) at ZTI.
Academic Background: 1979 – 1983: Degree in Electrical Engineering (Dipl. El. Ing. FH / HTL), ZTL Horw.
1975 – 1979: Apprenticeship as FEAM (Electronics Technician), Landis & Gyr AG.
Languages: German (Native), English (Fluent - including a 9-month world trip for language immersion).
